Norway's Princess Märtha Louise, battling a tarnished image at home, says she'd like to spend some time as an aid worker overseas. She's currently visiting Norwegian aid projects in South America.

The princess said she'd also like to "adopt" a needy child, committing to support the child through donations.

"I could consider volunteering to work for an (aid) organization," Märtha Louise told newspaper VG during a stop in La Paz, Bolivia. "Maybe not for a whole year, but for an extended period."

The princess has been under fire in Norway lately following rumblings about a partying lifestyle and her latest romance, this time with controversial author Ari Behn.
